Nominating a Charity and Voting: These are unique privileges of VCWWC members. Nominations will open January 1, the on-line nomination form will be available on the website. Each nomination is carefully vetted, and voting ballots are securely handled by dedicated VCWWC volunteers at the time of registration at each quarterly meetings.
- Commitment to Giving: All members commit to writing a $100 check to the selected charity, even if it wasn’t the one they voted for. We are currently accepting donations to Cultuvue selected at the 4th quarter meeting.
- Presenting Your Nominated Charity:
If your name is called to present a nominated charity, here are a few tips:- You have ten minutes including time for Q & A. Be prepared to clearly describe what the charity does, who it supports, and how the funds will be used to make a difference in Volusia County.
- Avoid getting too caught up in emotions or nerves—focus on delivering a concise and impactful presentation.
- Members are particularly interested in the specific program or initiative for which you’re seeking funding.
- Check Presentation:
Typically, the quarterly check presentation and tour take place within 45 days of the quarterly meeting. For the 4th quarter, members selected Cultuvue. Since the 2025 exhibition does not open until the end of January, there will be not be a traditional check presentation. Instead, members will have the opportunity to tour the We Are Art Volume II, exhibit during the first-quarter meeting on February 13. - Community Calendar Submissions: Members can submit volunteer opportunities and events they’d like to share with fellow members to Teresa@VCWWC.org. These will be posted on the VCWWC Community Calendar, accessible on the VCWWC website.
- Equal Influence: Every member has an equal say in the outcomes.
Thank you for being an active and engaged part of VCWWC. Your participation truly makes a difference!
