Meet Fernanda

October 25, 2024

Have you ever met a young person and just known they are destined to change the world and accomplish whatever they set their hearts and minds to? From the very first time I met Fernanda Castillo Enriquez a few years ago—and every time since—I’ve felt in my heart that our world is better, and our future more secure, with her as a leader.

Last night, Fernanda was the featured alumni speaker at the Daytona State College Foundation’s Boots & Bling Event, sharing her inspiring journey. Growing up in a country with limited resources, she was determined to fulfill her mother’s and grandmother’s dream of being the first in her family to attend college. Fernanda has achieved that dream and so much more.

I’m particularly proud that, through her own initiative, we met, and she is now interning with VCWWC. Thanks to her hard work, she’s secured five grants that directly fund VCWWC Community Partner Impact Fund!

Thank you, Fernanda. We are all proud of you and deeply grateful for your incredible contributions.
