The DeBary Foundation
Special Events
Bricks of Honor, Stories of Valor Veteran Memorial Brick Program: The DeBary Foundation, a Florida 501(c)(3), is proud to open orders for its Veteran Memorial Brick Program, offering the community a meaningful way to honor active-duty service members, Veterans, and Gold Star Families with engraved tribute pavers.

Bricks may be purchased through the Foundation’s sales site: https://polarengraving.com/debaryfoundation. Pricing begins at $100, with a 15% discount for Gold Star Families. Each personalized paver creates a lasting tribute to the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who have served our nation. Honorees do not need to be connected to DeBary, all service tributes are welcome.

The first limited-run installation will be dedicated at DeBary’s Memorial Park on President’s Day, February 16, 2026. To be included in this inaugural ceremony, please place your order by January 5, 2026.

Volusia School Teacher
Special Events
Dear Volusia County Women Who Care,
Hi! I am a special education teacher here in Volusia County. I am pleased to share a wonderful new partnership with a technology program at a local high school. These students and staff have generously volunteered their time and talents to adapt toys for children with disabilities in our community. These adapted toys are designed to be activated through a single switch, making them accessible for children with physical disabilities or complex needs. I have attached a video example of one of the toys the students adapted.

Unfortunately, commercially available switch-adapted toys are often prohibitively expensive, with costs typically ranging from an additional $30 to $70 more than the unadapted version, and switches themselves costing up to $75 each. However, with a few materials, the students have been able to adapt these toys for around $2 and build the switches for around $6.

This holiday season, we hope to provide three adapted toys and one switch each for nine deserving students in our Volusia County community. While the high schoolers are graciously donating their time and skills, we are seeking support to help cover the materials to make this vision a reality.

If you are able to contribute or would like more information about the project, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I have attached a link to the Amazon wishlist. Your support would make a world of difference to these students and their families this holiday season. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Palma
