Nominate and Present
Nomination and Verification Process
Thirty days in advance of the quarterly meeting, members are invited to nominate a charity that provides services in Volusia County, Florida. All nominations are reviewed to verify that the organizations are registered 501(c)(3) entities and meet all the requirements of the IRS and the State of Florida.
How the Charity is Selected at the Quarterly Meetings:
At each quarterly meeting, the previous quarter’s recipient shares how the funds they received are being used. After their presentation, they draw three nominations from those submitted by members. The three members whose nominations are drawn each present for ten minutes and answer questions about their nominated organizations.
Act
Vote, Contribute and Tour
The organization receiving the majority of votes is announced, and each member is instructed on how to make a direct $100 contribution to the selected 501(c)(3).
The VCWWC Community Partner Impact Fund provides smaller grants to the two qualified organizations that are not selected by a vote of our members to receive the quarterly member contributions.
Approximately 30-34 days following the quarterly meeting, everyone is invited to a check presentation and to tour the selected charity, allowing members to learn more about the organization and see firsthand how their donations are being used.
