A Community Honor for a Community That Cares
VCWWC receives the Hometown News 2026 Readers’ Choice Award for Best Nonprofit
Volusia County Women Who Care is honored to have been voted Best Nonprofit by Ormond Beach readers of Hometown News in the newspaper’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards.
Thank you to everyone who voted for us. This recognition belongs to the members, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners whose generosity brings our mission to life.
Since our founding in November 2017, VCWWC has brought people together around a simple idea: by combining our individual gifts, we can make a greater difference for local nonprofits and the people they serve. Together, we have contributed more than $828,000 to over 50 local nonprofit organizations.
Behind those gifts are neighbors helping neighbors—and members who care enough to learn about local needs, invite others to participate, and give consistently.
“As we celebrate our ninth year and look toward our tenth anniversary, this recognition is especially meaningful,” said Teresa Smith, founder and president of VCWWC. “We are grateful that our community sees and values the work we do together. Every member and partner has a part in this honor.”
We also thank the nonprofit organizations serving Volusia County. Their dedication gives our collective generosity its purpose, turning contributions into help, opportunity, and hope.
As we prepare for our tenth-anniversary year in 2027, we look forward to welcoming more people into this circle of caring. Visit VCWWC.org to learn about membership, upcoming meetings, and ways to get involved. Everyone is welcome, including men.
Thank you, Hometown News readers, for this encouragement—and for being part of a community that cares.
